When Life Gives You Lemons

Usually people say, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” I’m here to make it make it sense- differently! Let’s pretend those lemons life gives you are your talents and scripturally, your first fruits. What are we supposed to do with them? How do we make lemonade with talents?! We plant them, we nourish them, we grow them, we make something out of them and we share them!

For example, the lemons in my life are writing, wellness, strength and style. In the beginning, I only had writing until the rest were cultivated and discovered. Starting out is always sour- it’s just the juice. Views are down, motivation lacks, discomfort is felt- it sucks! You have to find your other ingredients- sugar, water, maybe even some mint or blueberries for extra flare. The other ingredients are your niche! And the final product is refreshing. But you can’t make something crisp, citrusy, and flavorful until you have everything you need for creating the final product.

Sometimes we have to wait for the rest of our ingredients to grow and cultivate in order to serve the best tasting lemonade on the block! Sure we may only start with a small seed and a tiny lemonade stand in the front yard. The small start serves our loyal customers first before enough word gets around and our customers become so great a number we need a whole Jamba Juice. Even so, we have to remember the importance of the lemonade stand. We can’t just come out with a Jamba Juice.

Pick your lemons, perfect your recipe, and build your lemonade stand.
Pick your lemons, perfect your recipe, and build your lemonade stand.

Much like the mustard seed becoming a large tree, the talents being invested for higher return, the first fruits cultivation and dedication is a very critical part to development. If you have big visions, you have them for a reason! Invest in them, let the Lord grow them in His timing, do the work needed to grow them and expand on them. Push past the obstacles to get your Jamba Juice! Build your lemonade stand, serve your neighborhood first and be patient. Be prepared for the slow beginnings, take the time to find out your life’s lemons 🍋

PS THIS IS NOT ABOUT LEMONADE!

With this being said, I’m excited to launch the official rebrand of Ray Rewritten and Letters for a Lover.
