When Life Drives You Crazy but You're Chosen

Let’s talk about those moments you are expected to strike a smile and put your best foot forward when things around you feel like they are collapsing. I recently experienced a trying time at work. I nearly lost my mind and wanted to give up. I felt tested to limits of peak exhaustion. I also had an interview I should have felt excited to attend, but everything around the interview caused intense stress and severe emotional turmoil. I cried four times the day before and left the gym early because my stomach was in knots over an opportunity that would be promising! Ironically enough, I felt deeper peace over my current position that is surrounded by a questionable future! Did it make sense? NO!

Let me tell you my secret, I prayed all week long for God to keep me where He needs me. I admitted to Him that I am too weak to make that decision on my own. That alone made me upset, but I pulled myself together in public because God has me in secret. I did not quit and put my best foot forward for the interview because it never hurts to try, especially when backed by prayer and trust. And that is exactly what walking with God feels like, stepping forth in confidence when you remember God has you in His hands even though the surrounding circumstances cause temporary emotional turmoil. Key word- TEMPORARY.

Walking confidently looks different for everyone. Embrace yourself and take one step at a time.
Walking confidently looks different for everyone. Embrace yourself and take one step at a time.

I took my deep breath and boarded that flight for an interview I nearly forfeit, but I knew I’d be disappointed if I didn’t at least try. After attending, I felt deep relief because they told me no! I didn’t drop appearance, and I finally felt that my mind and discernment were not entirely crazy for crashing out! Here’s what I gained from this learned experience: I trusted God before, I can do it again. My hope refueled. I can walk like I’m already chosen because I am! And you are too! Next time you lose your mind, take those deep breaths, reflect, talk with God, remember who you are in Him, remember God takes care of you, and don’t hesitate to admit when you’re weak! We are not super humans and we are not expected to be perfect, but put your best foot forward with Jesus by your side, you would be amazed at how much strength He can fill you with!
